GASLAND Trailer 2010 - Just watched it on HBO - It's Great!

I just watched this documentary today on HBO. It was eye opening to the damage the natural gas industry is doing to the environment and human health. I do not imagine most people would be comfortable with water coming to their homes, through the tap that can also CATCH ON FIRE!!!

New Orleans Example of Environmental Crisis

New Orleans is a city, and a focal point of energy extraction and exploitation from the environment. For years energy companies have been cutting through the wetlands with pipelines from offshore rigs. The wetlands are a natural defense against widespread flooding and protection from tropical storms and storm surge. And NOW New Orleans is a flooded city of pollution, where gas station and pipelines are leaking pollutants into the flood waters. Why all of this flooding? Unnaturally high banks on rivers, a sinking city, a rising gulf, shrinking wetlands, carved up wetlands, and a false sense of security from levees.
